Tithes and Offerings

The only subject in the Bible in which God tells us to test Him is in relation to giving. God says in Malachi 3:10 “Bring the whole tithe into the storehouse, that there may be food in my house. Test me in this,” says the Lord Almighty, “and see if I will not throw open the floodgates of heaven and pour out so much blessing that there will not be room enough to store it.” God challenges us to be obedient to him by giving back to Him a portion of what he has given us. When we do this, we show God that we trust Him with our finances and we receive great blessing in return.

What is tithing? Tithing is giving the first 10% of our income.

What is an offering? An offering is anything we give above and beyond our tithe.

How can I get started? You can start by giving regularly and consistently. If you don’t want to start with 10% of your income, start with a smaller percentage and work your way up to 10% over time. We trust that you will be surprised by God’s blessing and provision as you take intentional steps to honor Him with your finances.

Capital Giving Campaign

March of 2009 marked the start of our three year “Imagine Immeasurably More” capital giving campaign. As the church continues to grow and God continues to draw people into His Kingdom, the need for a larger, more functional space has become increasingly immanent. We invite you to take part in what God is doing here at Lakes Area Vineyard by committing to giving a specific amount beyond your tithe. It is important that you understand that this campaign simply is not about money. It is about what God is doing in each of our lives. We ask you to humbly ask God how He wants you to partner with Him. Regardless of what you decide to do, you are always welcome here!
